DIGITAL MARKETING AND E-COMMERCE TRAINING BY AJIRA DIGITAL PROGRAM ONGOING!

We are delighted to inform you of the ongoing students training on Digital Marketing and E-Commerce by Ajira Digital Program at the Main Catering Unit. (MCU).

Ajira Digital is an initiative of the Government of Kenya launched and driven by the Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology (ICT), Innovation and Youth Affairs to enhance youth employment in the country through provision of online jobs. In pursuit of this, the Government of Kenya in partnership with Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) and eMobilis are implementing the program in our local Universities through the Ajira Digital Clubs. 

OFFICIAL HAND OVER OF THE DIVISION OF ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE TAKES PLACE

The outgoing Ag. Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration and Finance), Prof. Charles Mutai, has today 2nd November 2021, officially handed over office to the incoming substantive Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration & Finance), Prof. John Kuria Thuo. While handing over, Prof. Mutai congratulated Prof. Thuo on his appointment.

A BATCH OF STAFF SPONSORED BY THE UNIVERSITY SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES A COURSE IN BASIC AND ADVANCED SIGN LANGUAGE

Five (5) MMUST staff have been awarded certificates of completion by the Kakamega Deaf Association (KDA) after successfully undergoing training in basic and advanced sign language courses.

The team from KDA visited the University on 22nd October 2021 under the coordination of the MMUST AIDS Control, Gender and Disability Mainstreaming Unit. This training, sponsored by the Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, targeted staff in key sections of the University as a way of improving service delivery to People Living with Disabilities.

MMUST SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING AND BUILT ENVIRONMENT (SEBE) REVIEW PROGRAMS TO MATCH MARKET AND TECHNOLOGICAL DEMANDS

MMUST school of Engineering and Built Environment (SEBE) has reviewed its programs to match the technological and market demands. The two-day review workshop took place on 28th and 29th October 2021 at the Farm View Hotel in Busia County.

MMUST’s Risk Mitigation Expert, Dr. Nicodemus Nyandiko has been appointed to head the steering committee of a ‘Research Network on Displacement and Migration in the Context of Disasters and Climate Change for Africa'

The Steering Group will comprise of: Dr. Nicodemus Nyandiko, Masinde Muliro University of Science & Technology, Kenya (Chair), Professor Ademola Jegede, University of Venda, South Africa, Professor Edwin Abuya, University of Nairobi, Kenya, Dr. Cheikh Tidiane Wade, Assane Seck University, Senegal, Dr. Annette  Okoth, Masinde Muliro University of Science & Technology, Kenya, Dr. Oluwatoyin Adejonwo-Osho, University of Lagos, Nigeria and Dr. Tamara Wood, Kaldor Centre for International Refugee Law UNSW, Australia.

STANCHART MARATHON MARKS BEGINNING OF NEXT-LEVEL PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN THE TWO INSTITUTIONS

The long-awaited Standard Chartered Bank Virtual Marathon took place on 29th October, 2021, at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST). The race, themed ‘Run for Healthy Living,’ was officially flagged off by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Solomon Shibairo, who was also part of about four hundred (400) participants.

Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, Department of Optometry is collaborating with the University of Valencia (Spain) to establish a mutual relationship that will ensure sharing of expertise between the two institutions.

MMUST TRAINS LAST BATCH OF OFFICE ASSISTANTS IN BUSIA

The last batch of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology office assistants has undergone training at Farm View hotel, in Busia County. The two-day training took place from Thursday 14th and Friday 15th October 2021. This is among a series of trainings organized by the University management through the office of the Registrar Administration aimed at bolstering service delivery in the University, to both staff and students.

STATE DEPARTMENT FOR PLANNING EARMARK’S MMUST’S SCIENCE PARK INNOVATION AND INCUBATION CENTRE (SPIIC) IN ITS BID TO TAKE STOCK OF THE SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY PARKS IN KENYA

A team from the State Department for Planning has earmarked MMUST’s Science Park Innovation and Incubation Centre (SPIIC) in its bid to take stock of the science and technology parks in Kenya. The team visited MMUST’s Science Park Innovation and Incubation Centre (SPIIC), yesterday on 21st October 2021. They were received by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Research, Planning and Innovation Prof. Charles Mutai.
