MMUST AND STAN CHART DISCUSS KEY COLLABORATIVE AREAS IN SUSTAINABLE GREEN CIRCULAR ECONOMY (SGCEM) AS STAFF RECEIVE TRAINING IN FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology on Friday 18th February 2022, identified and discussed key collaborative areas with Stanchart in a bid to establish a Sustainable Green Circular Economy (SGCEM) at MMUST.

Speaking during the meeting held at the Vice Chancellor’s Boardroom, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic and Students Affairs, Prof. Hussein Golicha expressed delight regarding the gesture by the Stanchart team, who are not only supporting MMUST but also going into partnership with MMUST in areas that are key to community transformation and improvement of livelihoods.  

MMUST scholars Dr. James Owuor, Dr. Edwin Kanda, Dr. Peter Cherop and Dr. Micah Mukolwe made an elaborate presentation to the Stanchart stakeholders, highlighting the key collaborative areas. These included Solar PV Energy, Bio digestion processes, Green operations at MMUST, Rain Water harvesting and Improving tree cover.

The Stanchart team applauded the researchers for identifying such key areas that will see sustainability of a green economy.  They expressed their willingness to collaborate with MMUST to ensure a green economy is achieved.

Apart from the collaboration discussions, the Stanchart team offered MMUST staff an extensive talk on Financial Management. A good number of staff received the much needed training on Financial Management.
