An international student at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, John Juuk Kuol, has grabbed the triple awards of ‘Best Male Undergraduate Student,’ ‘Best Overall International Student in the School of Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance as well as ‘Best Overall International Student in the entire University!!
The award winning Juuk was also the Chairperson, International Students’ Guild (ISG) at MMUST during the 2021/ 2022 academic year. Earlier, Juuk had bagged ‘The Albert Einstein Silver Academic Award’ for scoring Grade B in the 2020/2022 academic year. Other awards the same international student has won in the recent past include The Windle Service Award in 2022 for demonstrating active leadership and service to transform society and The Albert Einstein Leadership Award for serving in DAFI Kenya Students’ Organization (DAFIKESO) in the 2021-2022 academic year as University representative.

Speaking to the Directorate of Corporate Communications and Marketing team when he paid a courtesy call to the office of the Directorate of International Relations and Academic Linkages, Juuk attributed his academic and leadership success to good lecturers and academic programs at MMUST as well as support from his sponsors. This spectacularly sterling performance by the humble, soft spoken Juuk’s has certainly showcased the fact that MMUST is excelling in higher education training and that the sponsors are doing the right thing to support such students.
