Youth for Green Action Kenya-MMUST Chapter Takes the Lead During the Planting of Mangrove Propagules in Mombasa County!!

Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology Youth for Green Action Kenya (YGAK) Chapter has taken the lead by planting 12,600 Mangrove Propagules in Port Reitz Creek, Mombasa County. This was during a project, dubbed ‘’, which brought together participants from various Chapters, and YGAK’s national and international partners. Sixty-three (63) students from MMUST took part in the exercise, which ran between . The students were accompanied by YGAK-MMUST Chapter Patron-, along with Mr. Oscar Waswa-who was representing the office of the Dean of Students.

The project, aimed at environmental conservation in the County, involved other activities, including, capacity and team building, as well as creating awareness towards solid waste management. The YGAK-MMUST Chapter officials present during the exercise were; Mr. Chris Masoud (Chapter Coordinator), Ms. Mitchell Juma (Secretary), Ms. Sheila Lelei (Treasurer) and Mr. Robert Musundi (Public Relations Officer).

The Chapter would like to appreciate the University Management, led by Prof. Solomon Shibairo, for its continued support towards its (the Chapter) activities.
