MMUST Partners with Konza Technopolis in Building a Digital Economy

MMUST was represented by Vice Chancellor , who assured that the University Management, through the University Institutional Research Fund shall continue investing in the actualization of this partnership.  Among the funded activities is the MMUST Webometrics Institutional Project which is focused on creating partnerships in line with the Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) and Agenda 2063 Goal 19 (Africa as a major partner in global affairs and peaceful co-existence) of the African Union.

Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA), which is housed under the Ministry of ICT and the Digital Economy, in collaboration with the Republic of South Korea is developing Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), which will mainly focus on innovative postgraduate studies.

Present during the MoU signing were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Planning Research and Innovation (DVC PRI) Prof. Charles Mutai, the Director, Science Park, Innovation and Incubation Centre (SPIIC) Prof. John Muoma, the Coordinator Webometrics and Short Courses, Dr. Dennis M.W. Ochieno and the MMUST ICT representative Mr. Hesbon Amwayi. Members from Konza Technopolis Development Authority present included the CEO of Konza Technopolis Development Authority Eng. John Tanui, Ms. June Chepkemei, Mr. Lucas Omollo, and Mr. Richard Musau among other experts.
