MMUST School of Engineering and Built Environment (SEBE) in conjunction with the Directorate of Career Services hosted a team of Engineers from the Maastricht University School of Management (MSM) from the Netherlands. The team paid a courtesy call to the Ag. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Solomon Shibairo on Wednesday 8^th September 2021.

STEM SUBJECTS TO BE TAUGHT USING LOCAL ENVIRONMENT TO BOOST ITS PERFORMANCE IN AFRICAN COUNTRIES, SAY MMUST RESEARCHERS AT ICWES18

Stem Subjects should be taught using the local environment in order to boost its performance in African countries, Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) researchers at the 18^th International Conference of Women Engineers and Scientists (ICWES18) have revealed. These findings were shared at a global conference which was held virtually from 1^st to 4^th September 2021. The event was organized by International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists (INWES) and sponsored by MMUST and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The conference was themed ‘Global Humanitarian Challenges’.

MMUST HOSTS AFRICAN DIASPORA FELLOWSHIP TEAM FROM UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO

MMUST’s Vice Chancellor on Thursday, 2nd September 2021, hosted the African Diaspora Fellowship (ADF) secretariat, led by Dr. Billystrom Jivetti who is now a Research Scientist at Centre for Geospatial and Population Studies in the University of New Mexico. The enthusiastic team of four (4) post graduate students were accompanied by MMUST’s former acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Asenath Sigot. 

MMUST’S INSTITUTE OF INDIGENOUS KNOWLEDGE AND CULTURAL STUDIES TO COLLABORATE WITH UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI-COLUMBIA ON INDIGENOUS LANGUAGES PROJECTS

MMUST is set to increase its global visibility through collaboration with University of Missouri Columbia in indigenous language projects. This is after a courtesy call paid by Quinn Cunningham, a student from the University of Missouri to the MMUST’s Institute of Indigenous Knowledge and Cultural Studies (IIKCS) on 10^th August 2021. The team was received by Deputy Director, Institute of Indigenous Knowledge and Cultural Studies

WATCH MMUST 16TH GRADUATION CEREMONY

MMUST RECEIVES A DONATION OF 175 BOTTLES OF HAND SANITIZERS FROM KENMA HOME CARE SERVICES TO BE USED DUURING MMUST’S 16TH GRADUATION CEREMONY.

Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology has received 175 bottles of hand sanitizers as a donation from KENMA Home Care Services to be used during the 16^th Graduation Ceremony. The donation, which was presented by KENMA’s General Manager, Mr. Peter Muthui was received by the DVC in Charge of Administration and Finance, Prof. Charles Mutai.

“This is a generous gesture by KENMA HomeCare Services that will assist in tomorrow’s 16^th Graduation Ceremony. KENMA HomeCare Services has been doing a good job in keeping our University clean. We will continue to work together,” said Prof.Mutai.

The DVC(A&F) was accompanied by MMUST’s Assistant Registrar of Administration in charge of Central Services, Mr. Bernard Ooko. Other members of KENMA HomeCare Services present included the Administrator, Ms. Mercy Oduor and Technician, Mr. Joash Muthui.

KENMA HomeCare Services is also expected to Fumigate key areas in the University once the Graduation Ceremony is over.

MMUST’S SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING AND BUILT ENVIRONMENT LINKS STUDENTS DIRECTLY TO INDUSTRY AS THEY HOST ASSOCIATION OF ENGINEERS

MMUST’s School of Engineering and Built Environment (SEBE) has stepped up efforts to link engineering students directly to the industry early in their training. This was exhibited on 6^th August, 2021, when they hosted officials of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK), Western Branch. The Western Kenya Branch is one of the five branches of IEK in the country whose goal is to promote and develop the engineering profession and best practice in Kenya and the world.
