Prof Levi Shadeya-Mudogo Akundabweni

Prof.Levi Shadeya-MudogoAkundabweni is a Full Professor in the Department of Agriculture Land Use Management (ALUM);School of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences and Technology (SAVET).He holds a PhD in Forage Breeding and Agronomy, South Dakota State University, Brookings, South Dakota, USA; MSc in Forage Agronomy - Pasture Management, South Dakota State University, Brookings, South Dakota, USA and a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy and Applied Plant Genetics, University of Minnesota, St. Paul campus, Minnesota, USA.

Prof.Akundabweni has authored numerous research publications between 2021 and earlier, contributing to the fields of Crop Science, Sustainable Agriculture and Nutraceutical Breeding.His extensive research grant activities include MoBreed Project:EU Grant from 2016 to 2021; Namibia-Chinese funded Dryland Ecology Project for Varietal testing of Foxtail Millet for semi-arid lands of Namibia from 2013 to 2016 ; Smallholder Farming Systems Project: Screening indigenous plant biodiversity in the Lake Victoria Basin from 2009 to 2011 among others. Prof.Akundabweni's research activities are  focused on linking Plants, People and Practices with Disciplines of Agronomy, Plant breeding & Plant Biotechnology. Apart from his active role in research,

He has supervised various MSc. and PhD students in Crop Science and Agronomy.
