      Dr. Vitalis K. Ogemah

Dr. Vitalis K. Ogemah is currently Senior Lecturer and Chairperson of the Department of Agro-Industrial Technology in the School of Agriculture, Veterinary Sciences and Technology of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST). He holds a doctorate degree in Agriculture from the Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany; a Master of Sciences Degree in Horticulture, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture, both from the University of Nairobi. Dr. Ogemah has a wide experience in many agricultural fields drawn from Government, Non-Government and private organizations. His areas of specialization include postharvest management, stored products pest management, food loss, and waste reduction, agronomy, sustainable agriculture, and climate-smart agriculture. Dr. Ogemah has implemented various projects including on-the-job capacity building for agricultural researchers (UNU) and other projects by JICA, ASARECA, IFAD, and Rockefeller Foundation. He is passionate about Agricultural Research for Development (AR4D) and the sustainability of agricultural systems, especially among smallholder farmers. He has supervised Ph.D. students and masters and mentored several early carrier researchers.
