Dr. Ochieng Lukes Ahaya

Dr. Ochieng Ahaya is a Senior Lecturer and immediate former chairperson in the department of Social Science Education, School of Arts and Social Sciences at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology. He teaches, supervises and mentors both undergraduate and postgraduate students on academic and research matters.
His areas of academic and research interest are in the fields of religion, social change and indigenous African knowledge system. His major scholarly contributions were in his role in promoting the indigenous African justice system in enhancing access to justice in Kenya, and the mediation of religion in the public sphere in the modern states of the world.
He holds Doctorate Degree in Religious Studies specializing in Islamic and African Religions, Master of Philosophy from Moi University (2015 & 2011 respectively) and Bachelors of Arts in Education from Kenyatta University in (1995)
He has supervised 11 Masters Students and External Examiner of Religious Studies at Laikipia University
