MMUST Journals Set to Be a Game Changer in Research and Publications

Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology is set to be one of the best research and publishing Hub. This is after a two day workshop on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th January 2024, aimed at equipping editors of the proposed MMUST Journals with the relevant skills required to run a credible journal. The Training Workshop took place at ChefWest Hotel in Busia County. This workshop was officially opened by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Solomon Shibairo, who applauded the team for such a bold move. He stressed on the need for MMUST to have as many high quality journals as possible.

This will encourage researchers and postgraduate students to carry out high quality research with the assurance of getting them published in credible journals. Among the key areas that were covered during the workshop are; Format and Editorial Requirements, Ethical Requirements of Editors for a journal within publishing, The process of Establishing a Journal and Research Article Preparation and Requirements for Researchers. The proposed MMUST journals can be found at journals.mmust.ac.ke. The workshop was officially closed by the acting Deputy Vice Chancellor Planning Research and Innovation (PRI) Prof. Elizabeth Omukunda.
