MMUST’S WEBUYE CAMPUS HOLDS ITS FIRST EVER ANNUAL CAREER FAIR TO SENSITIZE COMMUNITIES REGARDING THEIR PROGRAMS

Representing the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Solomon Shibairo, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Hussein Golicha, stressed on the importance of scholarship programs, bursaries and work study for progression of students’ learning. “I urge all form four leavers to apply to join MMUST regardless of their grades since the University offers programs from certificate to degree level besides the TVET programs. I encourage you to make informed choices while selecting courses to join institutions of higher learning,” he stated. 

Speaking during the event, the Registrar Academic Affairs, Prof. Thomas Sakwa noted that the event should be a game changer, adding that the attendees should use the opportunity to interact with career counselors present to assist them in selecting courses. Prof. Sakwa also highlighted some benefits of studying in MMUST including support to students through programmes such as talent scholarships.

The Webuye Campus Director Prof. Peter Odera advised the youths to consider studying at the campus. He outlined programmes that Webuye Campus offers and promised the prospective learners quality education should they join MMUST.

Other notable attendees from MMUST included the Director of Privately Sponsored Students Programmes, Prof. Benedict Alala, Ms. Pamela Inzai and Mr. Levy Wanyama from the Admissions Office, alongside the marketing team from the Directorate of Corporate Communications and Marketing (DCCM).

Afterwards, the participants interacted with the MMUST’s marketing team to make inquiries about the courses offered and seek guidance on courses selection as well as application procedures. Such platforms offer great networking opportunities both for MMUST and stakeholders. It also gives students a positive start in their career search as well as valuable skills for future career searches.
