MMUST set to install environmentally friendly solar energy system

Speaking during the meeting, the Ag Vice Chancellor Prof Joseph Bosire applauded the move saying it has come in handy to help the university cut on its electricity bills which he said have been unreasonably high in the recent past. He urged the team in charge of the project to move faster on implementing the solar energy system.

Clean Energy Oy CEO, Mr Joni Lepisto, said the project will be of great importance to the both university staff and student from the school of engineering as they will be able to get hands on skills during the installation of the power system in the university buildings. In the conjunction with the greening initiative, led by Dr. James Owuor, the move will see the university improve in its efforts of environmental conservation as the solar system is environmental friendly.

The first phase of this project will be greening MMUST under the stewardship of the co-ordinator, greening initiative, Dr James Owuor and the rest of the project will follow respectively.
