University of California, San Francisco Affiliate Visits MMUST to Discuss Possible Areas of Collaboration

Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology has today, 22nd November, 2022, hosted a delegation from the Global Programs for Research and Training, an affiliate of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), to discuss possible areas of collaboration. The team, led by the Country Director of UCSF Global Programs, Dr. Koki Kinagwi, was received by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Solomon Shibairo.

Research in medicine and public health is one of the main area of partnership that was discussed during the meeting with the Vice Chancellor. Prof. Shibairo stated that a collaboration in this area will greatly benefit MMUST, saying that the University is committed to strengthening the School of Medicine as well as the School of Public Health, Biomedical Sciences and Technology.

Dr. Kinagwi was accompanied by Kakamega County Chief Officer (Health Services), Dr. Felister Moraa Mose, Government Pathologist (Kakamega County General Teaching and Referral Hospital), Dr. Dickson Mchana and UCSF Global Programs Administration Officer, Mr. Terry Ochieng.

MMUST team present during the discussion comprised of; Deputy Vice Chancellor (Planning, Research and Innovation), Prof. Charles Mutai, Dean School of Medicine, Dr. Donald Kokonya and Administrative Assitant, Mr. Moses Onyango.
