MMUST’s  Director of Research and Post-Graduate Support, Prof. Peter Bukhala has been picked to join the International Federation of Adapted Physical Activity (IFAPA) ‘s  Board of Directors  as the African Representative.

Prof. Bukhala,  the renowned Professor of Sports Science whose main focus is on disability sports, will hold the position from 2021 to 2023. Notably, Prof. Bukhala has previously served on the Special Olympics International Strategic Planning Committee from 2010 to 2015.  He recently solicited a three (3) year partnership with Special Olympics and Lions International  Kenya) for the Optometry Department at MMUST to participate in screening, testing and manufacture of lenses and frames as well as the development of certificate courses for already practicing optometry technicians in the Country.

Further, Prof. Bukahala has just finished his 4 year term on the Sports Science Committee of the International Paralympic Committee as the African representative.

This achievement effectively boosts MMUST's positioning and visibility in the global arena.
