As a part of its service delivery to the students and other stakeholders, the University has entered into signing performance contract with the Ministry of Education to ensure we are guided by our strategic plans and live up to our stated mission and vision. Senior Officers will be signing their contracts with the Ag. Vice-Chancellor whereas other staff will sign contracts with their heads of departments to ensure the performance contract culture is cascaded down to improve on efficiency and effectiveness in the operations of the University. This has born fruit where by the performances of individual officers have improved tremendously. There is therefore an overall greater efficiency in resource utilization and service delivery.

The University Council oversees and guides the administration of the University and their active participation and guidance in decision-making has enabled the University to achieve great development projects. Regular consultative meetings between the university administration and the Council have generated harmonious transformation of WECO to WUCST and now to Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST). The Council has always been very supportive in all matters of physical and academic development implementations by the University.
