Prof. S.B.B. Oteng’i Director
The Center for Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance (CDMHA) was established at MMUST on 1st April 2004.It is the first center at MMUST and also a first of its kind in the region. It will assume the status of a regional centre. Natural and Human-made disasters are increasingly becoming severe and frequent.

This has led to increased human suffering and economic losses, especially in developing countries. Indeed more than 95% of all deaths in developing countries are 20 times greater (as per GDP) in developing countries than in industrial countries.

The main reason for this disparity is attributed to more vulnerability in developing countries.
