H.E the Ambassador of France to Kenya, Mr Remi Marechaux will on Thursday 24th February open the French Resource Centre at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, Main Campus, Kakamega.

The French Embassy in Kenya has been a partner with the University for more than five years. Indeed, the resource Centre was set up largely by the French Embassy whose top officials have in the past made a number of visits to the University and donated a number of teaching resources.

According to the Director, Directorate of International Academic Linkages Prof Elizabeth Abenga, apart from the French people’s support in the teaching of the French language at MMUST, there are other expanded initiatives that the French Embassy is also now supporting. These initiatives include academic activities in the Sports Science department and the funding of a proposal in the Department of Biological Sciences. “The Embassy is also keen in supporting programmes in Engineering,’ Prof Abenga observed.

H.E. Mr Remi Marechaux and his team will also meet staff in the Department of Biological Sciences, MMUST.
