Plans are underway for the review of the Promotions criteria with immediate effect. This resolution was arrived at during the University Management Board meeting held on Monday, 15th February, 2016 in the Vice Chancellor’s boardroom.

The University Management Board (UMB) tasked the Human Resource department to start the review process should immediately and work towards addressing the grey areas that exist in the current criteria. This, they said would ensure that all members of staff who have stagnated on the same job group for years are considered. 

Meanwhile, the non teaching staff will soon benefit when the PSSP policy will be reviewed this year. This was revealed during the Vice Chancellor’s meeting with the Secretaries and Administrative officers a fortnight ago. Prof. F.A.O Otieno appreciated the disparities in the PSSP policy that have caused disquiet among the non-teaching staff. Prof. Otieno said that the policy shall be open for review.

He reiterated the working facilities are set to be improved so as to enhance efficiency and better work conditions for all workers in the University. When asked about the recent interdepartmental transfers, the VC said that the exercise is in the broad interest of the University.
