As the MMUST community warms up to participate in the 2015 Gala Dinner Awards ion 18th December 2015, the School of Nursing has set the pace by awarding students who performed well during the current academic year. The colourful event which was held at the University’s Star Annex campus on Thursday 14th October 2015 was graced by the Chairman, Institution of Engineers of Kenya, Western Branch Dr. Richard Ocharo Onchiri who is also the Acting Dean, Faculty of Engineering, MMUST.

Dr. Onchiri thanked the Executive Dean School of Nursing and Midwifery for organizing the event and appreciated the awardees for the effort they had shown. He further challenged them to work hard to excel in their studies and in their profession once they graduate.

“I want to thank the Dean for organizing this event. There is need to recognize good work. I therefore commend the winners and urge them to better this performance,” said Dr. Onchiri.

Executive Dean Lt. Col. (Rtd) Dr. J.M Okoth encouraged the trainees to take up their responsibilities by volunteering in different spheres of life. “I call upon you to volunteer in different spheres of life and assist the community stay healthier,” he said.

The in-coming Miss Nursing Zuena Lisa thanked her fellow nurse trainees and promised to work with them all . She encouraged nurses to be good role models in society and keep their focus on their objectives.
