It is now official that students and staff of technical training institutions based within Kakamega County will now benefit from infrastructure and courses at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.

This follows the signing of Memorandum of Understanding between MMUST and the technical Institutions which include Sigalagala, Bushiangala and Shamberere.Speaking during the signing ceremony, the University Vice Chancellor Prof. Fred Otieno said that mechanisms have been put in place to ensure continuous improvement through monitoring so as to add value to the community at large. He was flanked by DVC Planning, Research and Innovation Prof. Egara Kabaji, DVC Administration and Finance Prof. Rotich and other MMUST senior staff.

Prof. Otieno said the University will coordinate and support the technical training institutes to optimize the use of existing infrastructure. He noted that this will go a long way in improve living quality of lives of the community through provision of employment opportunities.

Ms. Bernadette Canute, the Principal Sigalagala Technical Institute who spoke on behalf of the three Technical termed the linkage as a reawakening which will ensure that youth at technical institutes get focus and direction as they rise through the ranks to attain the highest academic qualifications.

Present also during the M.O.U signing ceremony was the Principal of Bushiangala TTI, Clackson Barasa and his Shamberere counterpart Dan Mutai who were equally flanked by senior members of staff from their Institutions.
