“Finally we are there and we are happy that it is MMUST.” These were the words from Member of Parliament for Malava Constituency, Hon. Moses Malulu Injendi before the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Malava Education Stakeholders Forum and Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.

The MOU, signed on 15th July 2015 will see MMUST set up a study centre at Malava, located along Kakamega –Webuye road. The delegation expressed its joy in the gesture extended by MMUST to set up a campus at Malava saying this move will go a long way in helping enlighten the community and change the lives of the people of Malava.

In his remarks, Vice Chancellor Prof. Fredrick Otieno applauded the delegation and the community’s willingness to acquire knowledge.

“We are happy that the community is very willing to have our presence and more importantly to access higher education offered at MMUST. We are ready and promise to do our best in ensuring that Malava achieves what it yearns for,” the VC added.

The MP Malava constituency Hon. Moses Malulu Injendi said the Malava Stakeholder’s Forum is committed to support the MMUST centre. He pointed out the possibility of approaching the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology for more funding. 

“I personally commit myself to strongly support the University in setting up the centre. I will also liaise with the ministry of higher education to see what can be done to develop education in the area,” Hon. Malulu added.
