MPs of the Western Parliamentary Caucus paid a courtesy call at MMUST on Monday, 6th July 2015 and met the acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Rotich. The team led by Hon. Ababu Namwamba thanked the University for receiving them and appreciated the efforts MMUST has put in place to improve education in Kenya. 

The high powered delegation articulated its main purpose pegged on development projects within Western region. Shinyalu Member of Parliament, Hon. Silverse Anami Lisamula pointed out that MMUST is an institution that is dear to the community. 

“This University is dear to us. It is our institution and we will work hand in hand with the Management so as to contribute and boost education standards in this region,” he said.

On his part, the Budalangi MP Hon. Ababu Namwamba promised to work with MMUST in equipping the new Budalangi MMUST campus. The same remarks were echoed by Nambale MP, Hon. John Bunyasi.

Deputy Vice Chancellor PR&I, Prof. Egara Kabaji noted that MMUST has a special role in the region and as as an institution of higher learning is determined to achieve what is best for the community.

“Masinde Muliro University has a special role in this region. We are committed to ensure that we achieve our community extension goals through a number of initiatives,” he observed.
