Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology is determined to create awareness on matters that concern human interest.

Friday 13th October being World Sight Day, the Department of Optometry organized peaceful demonstrations inside and outside the University to sensitize students and the public on the importance of taking care of their eyes.

Stepping in for the Optometry Students' Association patron Phenard Odera, Sheila Nangena applauded the move by the students who valued the virtue of service to others by moving around the University environs to sensitize about importance of taking care of ones eyes.

She notably honoured the students zeal of holding demonstrations as they were the first to be held by the department since its onset.

She further urged them to continue with the same spirit in the coming Sight Days.

Apart from holding peaceful demos the students also pitched tents at the university for eyes check up.
