a) To promote unity, solidarity and a sense of belonging amongst MMUST graduates.

b) To mobilize resources for the development of MMUSTAA and the University.

c) To keep track of, and sensitize Alumni members on diverse academic, professional, social and economic opportunities available from time to time.

d) To foster mutually beneficial linkages between the Alumni Association and the University and other Alumni Associations both locally and internationally.

e) To act as a stimulating body in advancing the interests, rights and promoting the welfare of its members.

f) Develop and inculcate positive attitudes and virtues towards the University through participation in community service and other related projects.

Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology Alumni Association was established on 12th may 2006 when the chancellor for Moi University  Prof. Bethwel Ogot officially launched the then Western University College of Science and Technology Alumni Association (WUCSTAA). The need to have an association that would help to bring together a people who identify with their Alma Mater, resulted in the formation of MMUSTAA.The Alumni of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology constitute one of its major resources. They are the chief products of the institution and constantly represent MMUST. The Alumni hold the principle of promoting a favorable opinion of the University to the public. The primary objective of the association is to promote a symbiotic relationship between Alumni and the University and to promote a spirit of fellowship among Alumni. The interest the Alumni members stimulate and the service they provide together with the information they derive and distribute are all of benefit to the University, the community and other Alumni.
